AHBA vs dimming rear view mirror

I asked my dealer about adding AHBA just prior to the factory order.

They could do it, but told me that you cannot have the dimming rear view mirror with AHBA.

Frankly I value the dimming mirror function more highly than auto main beam, so didn't proceed. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Unless you have passed the date when changes can be made to the order and you are now locked in then your dealer is talking rubbish. I have had both on my last two cars 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Looks like I got duff info then. too late now as the date for mods has passed. I am really not too bothered about AHBA, so no biggy. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Privacy glass for me meant I didn't need the dipping mirror...I think that's what your dealer meant maybe? 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

I don't believe so, privacy glass has never been on my options list.

This was a straight discussion about adding AHBA to my original spec, which already had the dimming door and interior mirrors.

I think he either made a mistake or wanted to pout me off changing anything, who knows? As I said, I am unfussed about the AHBA, I have quite enough in the spec to make me happy anyway.......... MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Wilf, I had AHBA on my last two cars, because I bought an RRS ordered for somebody else (one of the dealership's directors) it wasn't specced with it (I doubt I would have specced it anyway this time round) I have to say that you won't miss it, I don't and also it is one of those much hyped techy things that will be worth zilch when it comes to selling the car. I do wish though that the director for whom the car was ordered had specced the dipping wing mirrors, but I wonder if they still work with Privacy Glass as the sensor is, AFAIK, the same one on the interior review mirror and my car has privacy glass. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I also have both but the High Beam Assist part of AHBA is useless because it doesn't react fast enough to oncoming vehicles. I got fed up with other vehicles flashing me so I've turned it off on my car. The Auto Headlight part is one of those nice to have things but you wouldn't miss it. What I do find good are the adaptive lights which swivel as you steer into a corner. Thats worth having IMHO

On my 2012 RRS1 the AHBA was slow. On my SVR it is much quicker and works great.

Yes, I have the adaptive (swivelling) headlights on the Jag, it works well, and have specced it on the RRS. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.
