Mobile phone help

I thought you gadget guys would be the best to ask. I lost my mobile yesterday whilst shooting, it was a 6230 (orange) I have insurance cover so they will replace the phone, I presume with the i version which my car has had the updates for. Should I replace on the insurance, or upgrade to a newer phone? Why do Orange not seem to offer the newer phones yet mobile phone sales companies do? Is it feasible to get a replacement from the insurance and then upgrade switching sims when I'm in the car - or should I just use the BT connection. If the latter is there any way of storing at least my 10 most used numbers in the car memory? Sorry for all the questions I'm a simple D3 owner!! (no I've not nicked the phone Evil or Very Mad )

If it was me and I'd had my time again, I would keep the 6230i with the cradle. Unless you're a phone freak and always have to have the latest and greatest then keep the functionality your PTI gives you. You'll only regret it once it's gone - like I did when I upgraded my 6230 to a 6280...

You mustn't forgett that you can store all your favourite numbers in the "voice" activated phone memory......... so like me you can use any phone on bluetooth and use the voice activation to make your calls.

You can also set up voice activation on the phone itself - it will then dial as normal/connecting via bluetooth.

Personally - the cradle system is quite victorian in that it limits you to poxy "old" out of date phones.

My thoughts/views anyway - for what they're worth ! Rolling Eyes

Yep, fair points... I suppose I've always just seen phones as ways to make and receive phone calls. Now you can hardly buy one that doesn't play your MP3s, take pics, make the tea etc.... Call me old fashioned Laughing

Thanks for your views gents. What I have decided to do is to get the phone on insurance and I may well upgrade as well, so I can try the two and get rid of what doesn't work!
