I've seen an SVR in black and it looked great, well done on daring to be different. Mark

Hah, prepare for some domestics as to whose turn it is to drive!

I just love this car. The ability to overtake a gaggle of cars trailing an artic in one fluid, safe move is something I am used to with a 911 but it's an eye opener when you do the same in the SVR. I cannot imagine what people think as I roar past. Just fantastic.

The combination of Sport (gearbox) and Dynamic (chassis) modes is a blast. Mark

Am I right in thinking there are 3 modes of speed?

Yes: lots, even more, and then some.

To be frank, you don't need to drive fast to have a blast. With the car in dynamic mode and the gearbox in Sport it'll howl on accelerating up to 25 mph and then snarl, crack, pop, and bang on the overrun when you lift off. All in a queue of traffic. Wonderful.

There are several combinations of mode. The drivetrain and suspension can be in normal or dynamic mode, thre gearbox in normal or sport (or manual shift). The exhaust can also be opened manually.

Putting the car in dynamic mode quickens the throttle map and stiffness the active suspension, plus open the exhaust (the exhaust normally opens only around 4000 rpm). I believe it may also run the injectors for a short while after lifting off to help with the cracks and popsbut DaveW can confirm this. Putting the 'box in sport holds lower gears.

There is also a symposer that opens to feed induction noise into the cabin at 4500 rpm, just in case it's not loud enough by this stage.

Re the Blue brake callipers on the SvR, are they the same as the standard Red ones or different & (Phil might know the answer to this) would the factory be willing to paint mine Yellow if I asked them, nicely?

Have just asked the dealer (to ask the factory) if they would be able to supply the seats (ONLY) in the Ebony/Cirrus colouring, would want everything else inside (like the dash etc) staying in Black. Would make a nice contrast I think.

I wonder how obliging they will be, shouldn't be too hard..

Going off-piste is what the SVO Bespoke dept is for. I think you would have to go through them.

I've just come back from Skiing in Canada where there was a beautiful SVR at my hotel. I nearly cried when I saw the price they charge for one out there, they start at 124,990 CAD, that is a little under £62k, significantly less than I paid for my 2016 Auto TDV6

Don't forget it's normal for prices to be quoted before sales tax in North America so that will add something like 10-15%. Even so, it's cheap and appears more so by the weak Canadian dollar. It's not long ago that it was parity with the USD, now something like 1.4:1. Mark
