Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black
Battery Life

The battery on my late 2010 TDV8 Sport (August 2010 build) is about to die. It doesn't hold voltage.
The first battery was replaced about 1.5 years ago under warranty (3 years old) when it died and now the replacement unit is on its way out.

I have another 4 months left on warranty so I think Landrover will be replacing the second battery under warranty.

How long should a battery last in a RRS. Less than 3 years does not sound very good to me and less than 2 years definitely not.

Australia 2013 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Fuji White

Could be a coincidence but later models with BMS (Battery Monitoring System, which came in about 2010 I think) appear to have lower battery lives. My 2011 RRS original battery only lasted 2.5 years and was replaced under warranty.

Mine lasted 4 years, 20,000 miles.

Now I am wondering if mine should have been replaced under warranty! L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

My TDV8 has had batteries at:

March 07 (when new)
Nov 11 (lasted 4.5 years)
July 15 (lasted 3.5 years)

One alternator at:

Aug 14 (lasted 7.5 years)

Not bad in comparison Confused
