Perhaps LR drivers in France should keep one or two in the boot for when they break down!

England

Back in 2006 I took a shiny new jag x-type to provence and on the way back stopped for fuel as we were low. Fuel filler cap wouldn't unlock and just kept turning Shocked

I rang jaguar assistance and they told me they had nobody available until the following day even after I explained we were stranded with 3 small children and had to catch eurotunnel connection that night Evil or Very Mad

In the end they advised me to break the filler cap and use temporary cap from garage so I could fill up and they would sort it under warranty on return home - I wasn't impressed and if it had been more serious would have been stranded in motorway services Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Hence why we have just signed up for ADAC breakdown cover. Nothing but good from people that have used them for €109 for a couple that covers any car regardless of age. I am sure that HQd out of Germany will ensure situations like yours rarely happen.

If you really want to panic if travelling in France in a Land Rover Product then read this.

http://www.brittany-internet.com/BrittanyN...fault.aspx

As an update LR Customer Service told me two days ago that someone would phone me to tell me what is happening to my RRS which the LR La Rochelle dealer broke for me and so far no-one has contacted me.

Anyone holidaying in France in a LR should be very aware particularly in July or August as they have no mechanics available.
