Hi soon to be RRS owner looking a nice black 2011 RRS HSE from a Main dealer.

Does any here have experience of the "Approved used 2 year unlimited mileage warranty"? The dealer is telling me its as good as the warranty they give on new vehicles. It also has a £750 MOT insurance which covers MOT failure up to £750.

Anyone have this warranty/insurance and actually had to claim on one? Are the any good?

It's a very good warranty and it should also include LR Assist. The warranty covers almost everything except suspension bushes although I got anti roll bar bushes done (but not wishbone bushes bizarrely). LR Assist is excellent as they recover and provide a vehicle if the worst happens. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I know these cars can be (but not all) trouble, the peace of mind will be good. The dealership guy did say its the best warranty I will get with the LR assistance as well.

It's been a while since I had an approved used and it was only 12 months back then but the warranty and assistance was the best available

Just make sure the vehicle is prepared properly - I've had problems with approved used not being and if it's a long way from home can be a pain in the getting things sorted as local dealers don't want to fix things that should of been picked up by selling dealer

Got a bit of creaking when turning at low speeds which I suspect is AR bushes and I will be insisting they are changed under the Approved Used Warranty as its only 4 weeks since purchase.....so far dealer has been very very helpful and compliant with a couple of niggles - brake flush and map updates  * Current: 2024 D350 Defender 90 on coils!

I think with a newer vehicle, and the right dealer, you've got more chance on such things. Need to remember that the Approved Warranty is run by a third party and isn't LR themselves. On some stuff they will insist on checking paperwork etc. before approving work, which is fair enough.

I must say that in my experience with the Approved Warranty, it did all I could want of it. Indeed, it paid out more than I paid for it each year after my initial free year. I have no complaints.
