Took my car in to have a leak looked at on the transmission box. The car is currently up on the ramp, and the guy has rang me to say that they have found play/movement between the shaft & bearing. He said some cars allow some play, some dont, and he was establishing from LR what the situation is.

Anyone know anything about this, and what the likely outcome is? Ive had a search through the forums but cant really find anything.
