Agree - RFL on fuel - but with exceptions - hauliers & business users have allowances - RRS Site Sponsors & all round genuinely nice guys - free road tax & fuel |

Think the previous l200 was 185, new one is Euro 5 so cheep cheep. Think our Atego is 175.00 as 7.5 tonne, Mitzy Canter 3.5 tonne is the same. |

Government wants to avoid being seen to be hitting small business in the pocket - that's why "commercial" vehicles are taxed more cheaply than cars.

Ours is about $700 per year (364 quid) but it includes compulsory third party insurance. So, if you don't want fire, theft or comprehensive, that's it for the equivalent of road tax and third party all covered. It's quite a good system ans if you have valid rego, you have valid third party cover. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

I think the Danes get hit hard on car tax too. Certainly the first registration tax is over 100% of the value of the car!

petrol prices are down and my guess is that the savings on petrol are enough to cover the road tax |
