United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black
I have it !!! (& some LR gossip)

I got the call from the dealer at 2.30 this afternoon - could i be there by 4.30 to pick up the RRS ?

Oh yes - I was there !

And it is great - very, very happy !

I spent a good hour and a half inspecting it, and found one minor paint defect on the tailgate - which they will sort out in the future at my convenience. They threw in a fullset of carpet mats and the boot mat too, along with a full tank of diesel and a bottle of champagne. All very pleasing, especially considering I got a discount as it is the last of the 06 MY's !

The car drives great, with no squeaks or rattles evident (yet !). I'm so pleased I went for the dynamic pack on the TDV6 - the handling is so much better than the standard TDV6, with no wallowing in the corners at all. i'm also pleased I went for the sunroof option - it just makes the black interior a little bit lighter.

A big recommendation to two companies:

Hadley Green Land Rover in High Barnet. A pleasure to deal with, kept me updated throught the wait, did a bit of a deal which is always nice, gave a very thorough handover and are happy to sort out a minor paint issue without a second thought. This was a far better buying experience han my Porsche was back in March !

MCH Finance - otherwise known as Kam ! Sorted out a great finance deal, beating the LR finance deal by 30% per month ! Easy to deal with, kept me posted at every stage of the process, and had an enthusiasm for getting things done efficiently and correctly. If you going to finance your next car drop Kam a PM.

Going back to the dealership, a couple of bits of info for you all:

- they hope to have a software update available once the 07MY cars are through, which will enable them to activate the 'nav destination input on the move' to older cars - hopefully by Oct/Nov.

- I also asked about the 'Lazy Lock' feature (ie the windows and sunroof closing when the alarm is set). They investigated this as the option didnt show up when they plugged the computer in. They say it is available as a separate software upgrade form LR, and they have ordered in it for me - should be there in the next couple of weeks, so fingers crossed.

Anyhow, my enthusiasm (plus a celebratry scotch) has made this the longest post I'll ever write, so thanks for reading !

Tonse

Oh, one more thing.....

I overheard some salesman talk in the showroom - they have numerous HST's on order which are overdue, and LR have not been letting on as to when they would arrive. However, they have now been told that 'due to bodykit building issues' they should not expect to receive any HST's - ever, either petrol or diesel - they are not going to happen !!!

Tonser.. great to hear you got it today!! plus nice it was relatively problem free and your dealership seems to have taken care of you very well.

Thanks for the free plug, much appreciated!

HST aren't going to happen full stop, u mean in the future? i've seen 2 now on the roads, not sure on them myself, look at bit too OTT and bling.. sorry if you have one, each to his/her own, but not for me.

Anyway, am sure we will see.
Enjoy your RRS, if i can help in any way in the future, give me a shout!

Cheers Kam and Caz

From what they were saying, there will be no more HST's - and no TDV8 HST's at all. Sounds like they are going to pull them completely and put it down to bodykit supply issues.

Many thanks for the info, Tonser Very Happy

...nice to have it confirmed that navigation on the move can be enabled by a software upgrade.

BTW will they do the Lazy Lock feature upgrade with no charge or do you have to pay for it? SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE BUG AND SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE WINDSHIELD

Hi Roland

I'm hoping that when the car goes back in to have the paintwork on the tailgate remedied, they'll do the lazy-lock and nav update at the same time as a courtesy.

In fact the salesman suggested I wait to get the paint done until these updates are available.
