Strange Vibrations

Hi All,

Recently started to get a "pulse" type vibration coming from under the drivers seat, usually when the vehicle is doing 60+ Mph.
Having recently had vehicle serviced i was hoping that this would somehow disappear but it's still there. Spoke to the mechanic and his opinion was that it could be a split rubber mount on the half shaft from the gearbox, apparently they are prone to splitting which can allow slight play in the shaft which in turn can cause vibration......?

Has anyone else experienced this issue, I dont want to put the car in for this work if i am looking in the wrong direction, garage time is really expensive and i need a new mortgage already this year !

Any help gladly welcomed...

Hello,

Try reading the Vibration sections. My wife has a 2011 RRS and it had a power steering leak and lost fluid. After it was fixed the car had similar vibrations that ended up being the torque converter issue.

When the vibration came we stopped the car and it went away for a few days. If you are lucky you can get away with having the oil flushed and replaced.

Do look at the vibration posts, but.. Sometimes the simplest things work.. I had same issues, LR replaced half shafts; and considered propshaft.. However, it turned out to be wheel balance! They were balanced by a specialist and the vibration went. The dealer found this by trying a different set of wheels before ordering all the prop parts suggested by LR.. Good on them. So, if possible try that too
