I have a slight coolant leak, and my local indie suggested its the water pump! he says he cant do the job and suggests I take it to a local dealer (brighton) and have the timing belt and water pump changed in one foul swoop !

would be interested to know peoples thoughts and possibly a rough idea of cost !. I have an 08 se 2.7 diesel .

it's really not a hard job.... time and diligence is all that's needed.
Its the rear fuel pump belt that's an absolute
I did mine... about 3 hours total and that was with tea stops

if you search this forum there is a detailed step by step way of doing it easily.
that's what I followed

Water pump is not run off the cam belt, and can be changed in around an hour or so.

Your belts will be due shortly due to age though, hence the advice
