AA attended and diagnosed that the issue was a flat battery.

Came out this morning, started my car and once again it was flat. As soon as i pressed the start button the clock began turning round and round. Anyway got the mrs car and jumped it then it was ok. Also got a error message, lean when cornering. Does this sound battery related? |

Yes i have had the same problems Battery going flat when doors were open when cleaning interia. When car was jump started all the info on dash went back to manufacture date, clock went to same time of manufacture. And all different faults came up ,Gearbox fault, Low fuel, etc. everything went back to normal after reset clock and date, and stopped engine and started it again. This happened to me twice,so i bought an upgrade 100ah battery. Because i was only doing short jouneys. Have had no problems since. itisme |

Our's does this after not running for a while. Generally only short trips too. Been in for numerous diagnostics but no one can find a problem but has killed 3 batteries in a year & getting very fed up with it.

Sounds like a battery conditioner might be helpful. Leave it plugged in to the vehicle when you're not using it and it will look after the battery for you. The problem with occasional use is that, if the battery isn't in perfect condition then you might never get it fully charged even by a 200mile run.

If the battery has gone flat, it will need fully charged with an external charger, to get it back up to 100% |

Are you replaceing with the same type of battery ? I have heard different people saying that a battery is a battery. not true. It needs the same ah and possibly same CCA or higher. As been said before try the tailgate switch. I had battery problems when leaving the tailgate open. Doing various jobs Result no starter next morning ![]() |

Its not the micro switch that corrodes, Its the alloy hinge device that pushes onto the switch that gets powdery and doesn't work properly. It is located under the rubber surround that you press to open top of tailgate. I have had this problem with both of my previous RRS. Toook them apart cleaned them and gave them some WD40 treatment ,Problem Solved itisme |

Dropped the car off yesterday afternoon and told them what the AA said. Even left the AA invoice explaining the fault, so car was being looked at today at 8.30am. I had to call them to find out what was wrong 2 hrs later only to be told it failed to start this morning. Another 2hrs after i called again it had been diagnosed as having a faulty cell in the battery. So i asked what they planned to do, said they've ordered a new battery. Unsure when it will arrive and unable to say if the warranty will cover the costs. Still waiting for them to say how much the battery is? And that was at 11.50am
