LEAKED LR INFO - TDV8

Hi guys, today i was faxed over by a mutual friend, all the official prices/specs on the TDV8 for Jan Launch (around about - prob Dec for first few cars for us lucky few).

Official quoted doc: Available on fax, if required, pm me will be happy to forward it on, although some of the smaller lettering isn't very clear already as its been faxed around a bit already!!

TDV8- 3.6 Litre V8
Sales Launch: Jan 2007

272 BHP
0-60mph - 8.6 Seconds
130mph Top Speed
25.5 MPG Combined
Positive Torque Transmission
Titan Finished Grille and Side vents ( As per current SC)
HSE Spec as TDV6 +
20" Alloy wheels (no type detail yet)
Adaptive Cruise Control
Adaptive Xenons

HST Spec available: (Timing TBC)

Pricing: TDV8 HSE: 53,095 OTR
TDV8 HST: 58,995 OTR

Only extras i would go for on this model would be:
Privacy Glass: 350
Hybrid TV: 500
Tyre Pressure Monitor System: 345

Total OTR Price: 54,340.
(Plus Tracker/IMob Unit)

This data is official launch data as per 21st August 2006 for MY 2007.
The source is guaranteed correct, although i wouldn't put my life on it.
As with all models, pre launch, prices and spec liable for changes at any point until first car lands on forecourt. Bulletin no for the info is: C3539.

Signed by:
Colin Wells, Range Rover Sport Product Manager.

Only other bits of new info from the sheets is:
Stornoway Grey to replace: Bonnatti Grey MY07.

Other interesting bits include the margin calculation for the dealers, as well as a wholesale price. I feel a group buy coming on guys,
(wonder how many units classes as wholesale buy!?).. hmm Laughing

Btw, info passed to me by another member on here, and permission obtained to leak this to the rrsport world.. hehe..

I know these prices were roughly what was expected but to me it's a big difference from a TDV6 with a gap in power that could be made quite small by having your car 'tweaked'.

Excellent stuff KAM Thumbs Up

From the link quote -

"And like the V8 supercharged derivative, Range Rover Sport’s highly effective Dynamic Response system is standard equipment on the TDV8. The system’s electronically controlled hydraulic actuators continually adjust Range Rover Sport’s roll stiffness in response to cornering forces, providing outstanding body control without the ride penalties associated with conventional roll bars.

The TDV8 shares its braking system with the Range Rover Sport Supercharged too, with four-piston Brembo front brake callipers and 360 mm front discs helping to achieve consistently excellent stopping power."

I wonder how long diesel prices will remain low... my local Sainsbury's is down to 93.9p now! With the requisite £50 of Guinness that's 88.9p! All of a sudden it's 5 years ago.... Very Happy

Exactly, I'm not jumping to a TDV8 any time soon. My supercharged TDV6 is running like a dream with tons of performance on top and with better mpg than TDV8, when I'm careful. Wink TDV6 - gone

I like the look of the darker wood as well against the black leather.

Is that the tyre pressure monitoring button far left of the hazzard warning button ?

"Detail improvements abound within the cabin too. The optional new hybrid TV unit not only offers better analogue TV reception, it’s capable of processing digital TV signals too. This helps future-proof against the planned migration to digital- only TV signals in many countries. An attractive metallic finish is now applied to several controls to improve tactility, while crisp, clearer instrument graphics and an additional instrument pack clock make life easier for the driver. Other enhancements to specific derivatives include stowage pouches on leather driver seats, enhanced navigation functionality, lane-change indicator functionality (providing a three-flash lane-change signal in response to a single touch), an electric tailgate latch (for automatic closing once lowered) and the optional availability of Land Rover’s fully electronic Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (which keeps an accurate watch on temperature-corrected tyre pressure within each road wheel)."

I wonder if the new interior features such as clock in the instrument cluster and autoclose on the boot will filter into the existing RRS product line. I mean, these are being talked about in ref to the TDV8 only and not MY07 cars, right?
