If its a Mk2 we want to see some pics please. . Quite like the Rs, just a shame they didn't make it a 4wd.

We have a blue Mk2.

Now running 410 hp.

The front half of the strip was just sitting in its trough - not stuck in at all. I initially thought that I could push it down and that it just needed clipping in but no, it didn't want to stay in its trough at all. Not that I'd have any intention of doing so but if I'd happened to have driven the car at high speed on a derestricted autobahn or similar, this would have definitely undressed itself. Awful.

Solution: New strip ordered, colour match painted and fitted. Evoque on loan with a £750 insurance excess whilst this was being sorted.

Problem 4: Rear O/S mud flap found to have a 3 to 5 mm gap between the top edge and bottom of the rear PU.

Solution: Dealer fit issue. Refitted properly.

Problem 5: 5 to 10 mmm gap discovered running the full width of the car between the boot seal and the top of the rear PU mouldings. (See previous post on this issue regarding build quality issues). Three other brand new cars in the dealership were also found to have this unique 'ventilation gap'. It was also noted that, as this gap runs below the level of the rear door seal, water would pour in to the gap - should you decide to have a go at the full one metre wadding depth.

Solution: New car requested.


So, there you go. Total sh**e. So disappointed - just can't believe that a car of this price (£65k) is wheeled out of the factory in the state that it was/is in.

Sorry that you are having trouble with your RRS. I assume you have been in touch with your dealer and got nowhere; there's a Land Rover Customer Relations forum here (see it on the home screen) and Pete from Land Rover monitors posts made there.

The problem is that since you are new to the forum, you cannot yet send PMs (you need to have posted 5 times I think), a measure to protect users from spammers. He might give you an email address to be in touch as an alternative.

You might not want to spill the beans about your car while you are trying to resolve the problems but a statement like "I have been having an awful time..." does not sit happily with the amount of money we're spending on the car. Before we know it, people will be putting having a root canal as preferable to buying a new RRS...

Sorry to hear your problems. The more & more I hear about the disapponitment of RRS owners my decision is now easy. I couldn't really decide between RRS, RRS2, X5, Cayenne. Well I'am pretty sure it won't be a LR/RRS. 2001 Black Porsche 911 turbo

The sad thing is that LR probably won't care that you're going elsewhere. They are selling so many vehicles in Asia etc that the home market has ceased to be worth worrying about...  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I'm having an aweful time my Range Rover Sport delivered March 25th. Can I have JLR email so I can tell them my story and possibly request a new car?

I have posted my issues on the customers relations page. Hopefully someone can put me in contact with Land Rover headquarters.

I also have a gap between the bumper and the seal and reported this when I picked up the car back in Nov 13. Any resoultions from anyone?

LR's resolution to the problem is to claim that the car is within tolerance. Presumably, if the gap were large enough to drive a bus through it, they might grudgingly admit to an off-day.

What LR are offering - and none of us want - is that non-optional nostalgia trip to allow you the genuine shoddy workmanship experience of a Solihull-built car, just like it was in the 60s and 70s.

Your remedy is to complain to the dealer, and keep on complaining until someone in LR recognises the build quality is pants and does something about it. Mark
