Correct. Unfortunately, you cannot currently use the PTI without the radio coming on. Yes, it is annoying....

If it's like the D3 head unit (and I can't think why it wouldn't be), leave it switched on AUX. Car will remember this between 'phone use and car use.

Yes I've used the AUX function to silence it, but what happen with the amplificator using AUX, will be always on?, could be bad for the AMP, mine has the Premium Sound.

You also get a quiet but constant "clickerty click" through the speakers if you don't have anything plugged into the AUX socket.

Doubt it'd be any worse for it than turning it on and off. After all, my father-in-law keeps his £40K+ hi-fi running 24/7, claiming it runs better this way Rolling Eyes

Paul - if you're getting clicking, why not mention it to the dealer on your next service? Mine is used for ipod interface and I've never noticed clicking when the head unit is on and the ipod is unattached. Perhaps you've an intermittent shorting/grounding problem?

I think other people have reported the same clicking. It happens when the head unit is set to AUX and the iPod isn't connected.
It is a continuous rythem, like a very quiet train going over the points Laughing

Had a look for other posts regarding 'AUX', but just found a lot of chat about breasts and Amsterdam Shocked Do you leave the connector plugged in to the AUX socket?

I checked this morning and it only clicks when the cable is left plugged in without the iPod. If I disconnect the cable, the clicking stops. I can only assume the cable is acting as some kind of aerial, but I'm not sure what it is picking up. On a petrol, the obvious conclusion would be the spark plugs, but not on a diesel. Maybe the injectors ?? Confused
