I'm looking to import my 2007 RRS to Perth, Western Australia in a few weeks.
Could anybody tell me how I can load a W.A map into my sat av please.

I recently moved home from Perth and may be going back. Can you tell me (PM if you want) how much your total costs are once you have imported it?

I imported my 2008 BMW 335i 3 years ago and it cost me about $15k then in total!

Finally received my car from UK.
All in good condition, somewhat extremely dirty. I paid a lot to get it clean and in tip top condition to comply with customs and quarantine.
I got charged to have it steam cleaned at customs this end, but unclear whether they actually did this as it was so dirty when it reached me.

Took just over 2 months from collection in UK to delivery in Perth, Western Australia. And cost in the region of £8,000 ($14,500)

Paper work and admin a real mine field and total headache, but I enjoyed the challenge and wasn't going to let it stop me.

I also used an agent "Cargo on line" Steve White and his team were brilliant. Certainly recommend them

Must say its a nicer drive than the Nissan Patrol with a 5" lift kit on that we bought for bush bashing.

How much did they value your RR at? Have you paid your taxes etc too?

Nothing will beat that moment when you see it sitting in Fremantle huh? I was 9 months without mine.

I valued it from Uk at $43,000 going by Aus websites
When I had it insured by RAC they valued it at $53,000

All taxes paid just rego left to do.
Took it for a spin to the inspection station. What a dream to drive.
Forgot how powerful it is, may as well cut my Oz licence up now to save those speeding tickets coming through the post

I hope you've kept your UK licence.. I got caught a few times and only had to pay the fine. So long as you dont go PR you never need to change.

Thats cracking that they valued it on the low side, it means the less tax you had to pay on it!!

Welcome to Perth!!

Have you had a chance to get it out of burbs where you can really get the cobwebs out?

Watch using your UK licence after 3 months... they like to impound cars now if you're unlicenced. Happen to a mate of mine who was on a NSW licence (and in a company car which didn't go down well). You'll only get out of it if you're on a temporary visa. The camera in their car will tell them you're the owner of the RRS so you'll probably have trouble convincing them not to take it if you try the "I only have my UK licence" trick.

Remember, radar detectors are legal here in WA. I would suggest investing in a Valentine 1, mine has saved me a few times now, even from being just a few clicks over inadvertently. The only ones it doesn't see are the behind on opposite side of the road type. Just got a lovely picture of my X6 on green paper Big Cry 2 points and $150 for 71 in a 60

If you intended to use your UK licence as proof of ID (as every has to provide ID entering bars) this will not work unless you have a passport with you also. I'd advise you to get a proof of identity card instead from the Dept of Transport. This will save you from changing your licence to WA and also to save carrying your passport with you.

I miss Perth Sad
