That garage probably wouldn't know the difference...let's face it, we're all RRS fans and didn't even realise that LR did a TDV8 SE!

To the OP - go elsewhere. There are plenty of TDV8s around (or get a TDV6, remap it and get the EGRs blanked and you'll probably be just as happy) 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I'd look for another - if you're asking questions and are in doubt the same issues are likely to arise when you want to sell.

These are complex beasts which when theyare right they're great but a nightmare when they're not. Find a good one that checks out easily.
