I know you say the battery "seems" charged but it is difficult to tell this from a charger, the only way is to have it tested properly, I thought this of mine just recently thinking it was charged. Voltage wise it wasn't too bad but when checked by my local indie they said it was only holding 700 amps which was causing a lot of starting issues. New battery fixed it. 2010 RRS, TDV8

I had the same symptoms on my TDV6 following about two years of difficult starting when cold. Battery was fine, I just got in one day and was greeted with a click instead of the starter firing.
After checking that the engine was still turning over properly, I pulled the starter motor and found the nut holding the main 12v feed running from the solenoid to the starter motor was gone. The only reason the car had been starting *at all* was because the said feed wire was by design, a bit longer than it needed to be, which meant it had a bit of spring tension in it which was in effect holding it onto the terminal. Amazingly this had worked for 2+ years until the connector had corroded so much that sufficient current could no longer go through it.
I cleaned it all up and installed a new nut good to go.
Once you load test your battery, I would ensure the engine actually turns. If it does, the starter is easy to test once it is out. MY16.5 RRS SDV6 AB Carpathian Grey/black 154k km
