Hi All,

I'm looking to get back into an RRS after a few years away. I'm currently in a '55 plate BMW X5 and am totally sick of the firm ride. plus it's just nowhere near as nice as an RRS inside.

I used to have '55 plate RRS HSE and found it to be a complete boat round corners, which is why i went for the X5 as it definitely behave better round corners. of course the down side is the firm ride.

what i'm hoping you folks can help me with is was anything done on later models to make the RRS corner better? i've been searching "dynamic this" and "dynamic that" so i'm thinking the answer is yes, but it's not that easy to understand the different systems and when they were put in place.

If i were to go for a 2010 model will i notice a difference to my '55 RRS or do i need to go for a 2012 model with the 8 speed gearbox?

I went for a test drive in a new shape RRS, which drove amazing. Do any of the older RRSs drive the same? Just can't stomach spending £70K on a car. My budget is more like £40-50K as i'd also like to get an Autobiography.

I have owned MY10 and MY13 and the SDV6/8 speed is miles better than My10

My brother had a MY06 and MY10 was far better

Not been in new rrs yet but very happy with MY13 even compared to new 3.0 full fat and previous 4.4 full fat I have driven which roll too much on corners

At the end of day budget matters but newer version get better every time

Like Muddy I have a MY13 old shape which has " Dynamic"and I have driven a new MY14 RRS, to be honest on the road I did not think there was any great difference.

But then again I do not tend to throw my cars around corners, the new model is probably better for that, but under normal driving conditions I could not tell the difference!

Like above the newer u can get the better,I had a My 07 thought tht was nice but when I got My 13 I could not believe the difference,not just the drive but a much better interior..

just test drove a 2012 autobiography and it felt pretty good.

now to apply a bit of man maths and decide if i'm going for it.
