unpainted brake callipers? on L494

Thumbs Up Don't know if anyone has picked up on this yet? My new RRS HSE was delivered last month and I noticed the callipers were unpainted.

The sales brochure clearly said that the callipers would be painted black unless you go for the extra option of the £££ red ones.

I pointed this out to my dealer and got £500 for my trouble! Cost me £140 for quality red job paint and Brembo decals.

Serves 'em right for giving me zero discount on my new Sport in the first place. No brainer really Smile£££

where did you get them repainted? don't suppose it was anywhere near London - quite fancy getting mine painted when it arrives 2010 997 Carrera S

Can they paint them in situ or do them remove them first and refit? Mark

Interesting. The current configurator shows "metal finish" as standard with red paint as the chargeable option. Mine are not black but unpainted on an HSE delivered early December 13. Regards

Proper way is to remove them Mark.
The calipers get sand blasted to remove the existing finish after which a few layers of enamel are baked on. Current...

Was going to spec the red callipers myself ......... but the dealer pushed the button on my order without calling me to finalise the spec first! Crying or Very sad

(Don't ask!!) MY14 RRS2, Corris, Pano, 50/50 Cirrus/Black leather, Meridien sound, 22" Style 6's, Bespoke Gap around tailgate.
