I always find the M74 quite empty when i use it, some lovely scenery around the border too. As said above though, unmarked cars are common. I sit around 75-80 and have never been stopped. 2007 TDV6 HSE |

Why not travel up the A1 (M) Cross Forth Road Bridge M9, A84, A85, A82 and A87 ? Yes there are a few cameras but the only mobile unit is usually at Grangemouth. I travel to Skye regularly and find this the best route up - plenty of places to get past slow moving traffic. |

From Hull you won't get on the M1, the A1 is the more likely route north. |
