Side Access Panel

Does anyone know what the small access panel on the offside in the boot is for Question

If it is for access to something, why isn't there one on the nearside, unless it has something to do with the fuel filler lock... Idea

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

You are right on both counts really. The in car DVD player is stored behind the small access panel in the RH rear quarter trim. Although the harness that runs along that panel can be a pain in the backside and get in the way when ejecting the DVD cassette.

But for all us mortals that cannot afford the in car DVD system, the main purpose of the access panel is to gain access to the rear of the fuel filler flap mechanism. If for any reason your fuel filler flap should become jammed shut, you can with a bit of "jiggery pokery" release the fuel flap lock from this area. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

Let's not forget it's original purpose, which if you ask a D3 owner, he will say it's where we keep our stashes Wink
