Alarm keeps going off

This is getting rather annoying now, alarm will go off within an hour of leaving the car. I have checked all doors, tailgate and bonnet and all seems ok.

2006 RR Sport supercharged.

Any ideas before I take it to get looked at

cheers guys

I had this on my 2007 sport and the sensor on the bonnet was faulty, I was told it was a common problem

Ok funnily I did actually search and thats what came up...I looked under the bonnet and could not for the life of my find the sensor... where is it located and is it an easy job to swap out/DIY fix?

Any cost on the part?

Just replaced mine, 5 minute job.

Remove the two torx bolt that fix the drivers side (UK) or passenger side (US) to the front panel, lift up the hood/bonnet latch and you'll see an electrical connection. Unplug the connection then remove the alarm sensor from the latch.

The alarm sensor just slides onto the latch with two plastic clips holding it.

I removed the front grill so I could be sure that the hood/bonnet lock was striking the latch right in the middle.

(Don't ask me how I know that if they're not aligned you have a chance of the hood/bonnet release not releasing the hood/bonnet.....)

Slide the new one in, attach the electrical connector, align the latch with the hood/bonnet lock and tighten it up.

I locked the latches with a screwdriver before attempting to close the hood/bonnet and made sure the hood/bonnet release lever activated the latch. Then I closed the hood.

Sledge,

My neighbours are also delighted that I found this thread. WD40 has worked on mine (so far) but I'd like to also be ready to replace the sensor / hinge if required. Can you tell me where you sourced yours from and/or the part no? I couldn't find it in the other threads. Ta.

Got the genuine land rover part from a parts place in Luton don't know the part number as I have thrown the box away but its the drivers side bonnet catch with sensor, came as one part £26 including VAT so pretty good & 5 mins to fit.

Thanks. So far WD40 has done the job but at that price I reckon I'll buy the part just in case!

It is the drivers side bonnet sensor that comes attached to the bonnet catch.
