Hi from a recent new member. I'm seeking advice about my very recently acquired 2007 RRS which has a strange squeal from the rear right hand side wheel when accelerating in reverse. The sound is similar to that of a slipping fan belt and only occurs when slightly accelerating in reverse gear. The rear brake discs and pads have just been replaced by a non-LR garage, but the noise is still evident. I am worried that there may be something on the way out so any advice gratefully received, please. Thanks in advance.

More than likely, this will be due to the EPB shoes rubbing against the backplate. Fairly common issue.

The backplate should always be greased to stop the shoes squealing when replacing discs and pads
