Hey guys.

Have read some great posts on here regarding servicing. It's all really great info and a heads up for me.
I've got an inbetweener I need some advice on.

I have an 07 RRS TDV6 that only has 47k on the clock.

By inbetween, I mean what servicing would you guys recommend?
Do I take more notice of my car being just 7 years old now or the mileage?
I'm reading about cam belt, oil pump casing replacement, pulley guides as a precaution and such like.
This is the best motor I've ever owned and want to look after it as I plan to own it for a while.
Does anyone recommend a transmission oil change too?
I bought from a main dealer nearly 12 months ago.
I may as well get any work done with the MOT.

Its age or miles, so miles will trump age if you do sa 20k a year, you will be doing a 40k service in year 2.

But if your car is 7 years old, you will need to do the yr 7 service at year 7 regardless of miles.

If you want to look after it, a car never complained of having new oil...the most simple and best thing you can do for anything (as long as its not weekly on low miles!) Mike

I'm going to print this off and highlight what I think I will need doing.
I bought from a main dealer almost coming up to a year ago now. They did say that it had a service and was looked at.
When I picked it up, even though on an 07, it only had 35k on it. I have about 46k now.
I have budgeted £1000 for around the 50k mark to ensure that anything that could cause a catastrophic failure is dealt with. (not sure if 50k is too soon).
Hopefully it'll satnd me in good stead for a few more years then.

You are probably looking at a B service with a few extras.

Do you know a good independent LR person - you might be better off there Mike

I have a regular busy garage I have used for years and trust 100%.
I will try and get a price from an Indy in Bristol.
I have got in touch with my main dealer to ask if they have any recorded service history they can furnish me.
(Should of asked when I bought it I guess!!...lol)

Do you think 7 years or 50k is too soon for a front and back cam belt change?

You can never really change a cam belt too early in my opinion (well within reason). The more you don't know the history, the more you give yourself some piece of mind.

the only reason I suggested an independent was for cost and likelihood to do some preventative stuff in a way a dealer might not Mike
