Well, I think you are all Cads and Bounders. A deal is a deal and all this reneging is jolly poor form. I expected more of my fellow (ex) countrymen. What has become of Blighty? Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

What if, you had a car (or anything even a house) for sale and the buyer knocks you down say 2k. You agree but no deposit is taken.

I would contact the original buyer and discuss the situation giving him opportunity to match the second offer if no deposit paid. If deposit paid I would honour deal |

I fully agree Paul's situation has definatly been handled wrong. I've had a seller ring me before and say he has had a better offer therefore do I want to match it, then you don't know if that's genuine or trying to get more money out of you. I turned them down anyway. @ jpr for me a car that has had lots of previous owners could of had so because it was a lemon. I think some cars will have high previous owners because of what make it is. I.e a 911 as it's a car most would like I say they have owned but not for long because of the running cost. |

Probably because it was right money. I am in the same camp that condition is more important, but one owner somehow feels less mauled to me. |

Unlikely i know, but what if a prospective buyer was in the same situation, a verbal agreement to buy in a few days but was then approached with a once in a lfetime offer from another source....Superior rrs, a year later model 25k less on the clock........a £2k less price tag..........do you say no thanks....... I have a verbal agreement with a guy on a forum to buy a rrs inferior to yours and costing £2k more?........Be honest. 2010 RRS TDV6 3.0 Autobiography - Stornoway Grey
