Well, I finally took delivery of my new BMW yesterday. Must admit, I'm really pleased with it. It's never going to be an RRS and I'm not going to compare the two, but for the money I paid (including a 20% discount ) I am over the moon with it.
It's a 520d MSport in Carbon Black (looks navy blue in some lights) with a fair list of toys and is already returning in excess of 50mpg

Full spec includes, electric boot release & folding mirrors, TFT mutifunction display , electric tow bar, heated steering wheel and seats, extra 12v sockets and rear M spoiler.

The dealer (Sytner) was doing a promotion on 520d MSports offering nearly 15% (they did it for 1 week only) in order to try and sell some of the new face lift models (which mine is). I told the guy if he threw in a few things and got to a certain number I'd do the deal there and then.........and to my surprise......he did ......I did have to suffer 3 cups of nasty machine coffee though while he kept talking to his 'manager  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Yes, I will try and refrain from adopting the usual BM owners 'get out of my way' attitude
I've got some winter tyres coming so hopefully I'll not get too suck, but remember an old pal if you do see me at the side of the road going nowhere . I'm hoping the reliability thing plays out , as you know the RRS did have a few wobbles towards the end.  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Looks nice, actually thought sometime ago about looking at something similar, but sticking with mine for a while due to work etc

What sort of tow limits do the 5 series have?

I'll be honest Nick, I have no idea as I'll only ever be using it for a bike rack.

Ill be brutally honest, the saloon imho is hideous, (sorry ) the estate looks not bad in lighter colours.
i suppose you cant argue with the figures, as it is, and has been the best option for company car drivers wanting a bit of luxury for years. not for me though, ive never seen the attraction of BMs, possibly due to the local dealer here always looking down their noses whenever i have been in for a wander.

how many motors does that towbar have??? that will be the first thing to fur up and stop working!

Re: the tow bar and how many motors it has...............who gives a , I'll be in another car within 24-36 months I'm sure, so anything in that time will be covered by the warranty ......... and I'd probably bet money that it's going to be more reliable than the £1,800 new RRS option for the same thing  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
