It has belt driven camshafts. The belts should be changed at 7 years or 105k miles.

Belt for the TDV6 and Chain for the TDV8.

It's a belt and it's due at 105k miles or 7 years whichever is sooner. So your 2005 should have had at least one new cam belt in its service history.

I would find another dealer......... And there are two timing belts on a V6. One a "timing" belt, the other a fuel pump belt at rear of engine 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Belt driven with rear chain linking both camshafts. I know this because my chain has snapped after 62000 miles, engine finished. |
