Sound blanking my13 rrs

Help guys, I have a strange problem started today, playing any source DVD, iPod, dab, radio etc every 40 seconds or so the sound mutes and crackles and come back on, if the tv is playing the tv switches off, I have narrowed in down to the hard disk starting every 40 seconds as the fan starts the audio drops,

Is there a system reset or fuse I can pull to reset it

Thanks

Same has just started on my car, at first I thought it was just some interference , but it doesn't matter what the source is. My car is in for some minor warranty work tomorrow so I will also be asking them to look at this.

If anyone has any thoughts please chip in,

Thanks
Steve

Car has been in the dealers today. They unfortunately could find any faults although this did happen a number of times during testing, so they have agreed there is a fault. Software was updated but fault is still there. Car to be booked in for a day for further diagnostics.
Receptionist mentioned that while my car was in someone called about the same issue ! There is also a thread about this on the BabyRR forum.

Ive not long had a new stereo and you saying that i could swear something similar has happened a couple of times

The Traffic system warning also keeps going grey with a line through it very so often.

I should take it back in Mike

Not exactly the same but most of the time the sound is crystal clear on my Logic system but the sub rattles and distorts on some of my tracks with a bit of bass - pretty disappointing on a premium system - if I had paid the extortionate cost to upgrade I would be very mad right now Rolling Eyes

Did the same on both MY13 I have had - does anyone else have this Confused

TMC goes grey with line when no signal being received I believe Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Thats correct, the red line through the grey cars shows no signal...i know that, mine works (i use it all the time) it just pops up intermittently since they replaced the entire unit (after they broke the last one) Thumbs Up

The sub rattling they also fixed on mine, but it has to go back as they clearly left the old clips in that now rattles when the boot shuts Mike

Mine (April 2012) started doing this last week. There's a crackle from the speakers and then the audio disappears for a second or so. Doesn't matter what the source is, the audio dies - damn useless when you are on the phone. It even does it if the audio is off - still the crackle.

Can go for a 30 minutes or so without a problem, other times it can happen every few minutes. On one bit of today's trip it was exactly 15 minutes between drops. On the way back, botching for 40 minutes then once every 3.

I've actually just logged in here to search for the problem before I go to the dealers tomorrow and try to explain. I thought I was going to have a hard time convincing them something is wrong, but now I've found this thread it should be a lot easier.

ETA: the fact this has just started to many of us (think it may have been last Wednesday that it started) I wonder whether here has been a change to some transmission (TMC, 4G).

JLR - if you are reading this - please help - http://www.evoqueownersclub.co.uk/forum/st...page1.html

Let us know how you get on at the dealers, mine started doing this last week and i thought it was just the DAB signal that was dropping, since reading this thread the other day ive payed more attention to it and its just as you explain it. No doubt just another characteristic. Whistle

Very strange - today I had exactly the same problem. I had the radio on and it cut out for around 2-3 seconds. I then selected the uploaded CD option and the same thing happened every 6 to 10 minutes.

No problems up to now and strange that our cars should all start doing this at the same time?

Jim

Could you add a Sticky in the Technical section to point to this highlighting the issue?

When we get some answers to this problem, i'll make it a sticky. Thumbs Up
It is strange though that this has only just started happening to so many sports all at the same time. Confused Just to check that it wasn't the DAB signal on mine i played some music i'd downloaded, and the problem was still there. Confused
