19" wheels - is there are difference between MY's?

Hi,

Just wondering if LR 19" wheels fit all MY's or whether there is a difference between pre and post facelift ? and are the Brembo brakes on the TDV8 a problem for 19"?

Also the profile can be 50 or 55 ? which one is the recommended? and does this also vary by MY?

Cheers, Andy

There was a thread on here some time back about this and I believe certain !9's were a problem - the ones you show fitted my last MY10 3.0 TDV6 and I think TDV8 if that helps Confused

50 profile is correct for RRS but G4 and Disco were 55 I believe Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Thanks for the info... had a search and found lots of interesting posts... but still not 100% clear... i'm looking at a few of these at the moment - all the 5 V type... am i correct in thinking there are 2 slightly different versions of this particular style of wheel? (just from looking at the pictures the centre hub looks a bit different, and there are hollows around the inside of the rim on some)... and that i'd need the earlier one? would the pic below be the earlier style? and the one i'd need to ensure Brembro clearance...

The dimpled rim is the earlier model Thumbs Up

Hopefully someone who has/had Brembos can confirm which fit Bow down

I have the style shown in your first post fitted on my TDV8. There isn't much clearance between the Brembo caliper balancing weights and the inside of the rim but they do fit. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Found this Thumbs Up

SkyWalker wrote:
For Brembo`s you will need these numbers (writen in the inside center of the rim):

RRC502280XXX

9Jx19ER2OFF53

since the 8J R19 don`t clear the thicker Brembo callipers.

Thumbs Up

Absolutely different if you put them on brembo caliper (which's bigger, rotor's big as well to 360, 380 or 405), despie they have same offset and same J number (say 19x9J). I saw ppl here twisted it with J size and offset, sure J size matters, a 19x8.5J cannot match; also offset matters, a 19 wheel with ET 55 cannot match. But if I give you three different desigh wheels but same J, same ET (say 19x9J, ET53 as original), they can all clear brembo caliper? Answer is: not really!

Only the 19x9J, ET53, with fat design (more room inside of the rim) can clear brembo, probably only 3-5mm between caliper outside surface and rim. Actually most of original 19" rims are not fat (baggy) enough to match brembo. Maybe only one, the one most mentioned in former posts.

Of course, if you have a 19x9.5J (or wider) or ET50 (or smaller) or more baggy design 19" wheel, or bigger 20" 22"wheel, it definitely matches.
