Friend of ours, has an early (think 03 plate) toureg 3.2 petrol auto, with 20" alloys, spoiler, good spec, and 32k on the clock. Was offered £18k part ex. He was offering it around the family at that price, and ended up keeping it and getting rid of his 911 instead and buying an S4 avant as another family wagon.

At the end of the day, VW badge doesn't warrant big money on the used market, and if they are discounting, it can only mean, a) aren't selling well, b) about to change model/facelift it. If they are discounting it, the residuals will be terrible once used. LR have been good on the RRS to date and current market means they prob won't drop prices in the near-medium future.. the only way is up!

Talking to a couple of dealers about the TDV8 today, they are the same as they were back last year when i was buying my TDV6, seem to have more customers then they can deal with, don't return phonecalls, and you have to chase them down! is crap service, but still shows you they aren't desperate for the sales!

The only person that gets a good deal is the dealer. Discount now on a Toureg means you will pay when you sell/trade it in. Its not a saving.
I considered the VW but thought about the badge and the residuals. LR never have a prob buying and selling trade ins.
Go for the RRS even if you have to wait a little longer. TDV6 - gone
