United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Cairns Blue

As you have quoted my posting I will respond by saying, what a Censored

Have owned more turbo cars than most, never suffered a failure from any until this car so yes offense taken. We all know why these turbos fail and it isn't start up or shutdown process. Some fail due to internal electrics of varivane system, some from siezed actuator arms but most fail after being parked up for long periods as revealed with people buying the cars off a forecourt where cars have been for considerable period of time.
Since the advent of water cooled turbos, the need for sitting idling for a minute is outweighed by cats and practical filters becoming soiled 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

Turbo's are usually very reliable, a good many last the life of the vehicle especially if simple start up and shut down instructions are followed, the main reason for turbo failure is abuse or ignorance of following these instructions by the driver.
No offence intended, just advice to a prospective owner and other owners Thumbs Up

i'm supurised they havnt had turbo timers fitted to help with the turbo.

Only wosh-bangs with Scania sized turbos that are oil cooled would need them. And then only if ragged right up to the drive way. Older type turbos spin at @ 17000 rpm at tick over, the joys of modern turbos should be that they don't perform at near or above ability. Thumbs Up
Turbo diesels are a lot less stressed simply due to reduced engine revs. So the theory should be that these should and would be expected to last the lifetime of a car. Failed electrical components is not the same as a failed turbo in my personal view although described as the same fault. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
