Hi All,

Recently Purchased a TDV8 Sport on a 57 plate, Beautiful car.

I have got it booked in soon to have it detailed, The guy did my Porsche Cayenne, and it come out beautiful, My question is having it detailed, and he ends up doing the engine as well, Will this cause me any problems?

I know these vehicles are full of electrical components, Just don't want to pick it up and have all sorts of warning lights come up on dash or vehicle not starting.

Has any one else had there engine detailed?

Exactly what do you think he's going to do in the engine bay that cause a problem?

He will more than likely be cleaning up the plastics and then dressing them.

Jet wash it and the water causing a problem :S

Just a bit paranoid.

Unless the engine bay is absolutely caked in crap, I can't see why he'd need to jet wash it.

Having said that, most of the bay is covered in plastic (engine, battery etc) so I can't see that he could damage anything anyway.

Low pressure water is better for the engine bay, mix up some APC and use a brush to clean the bay, and rinse, protect any leads and plugs

Then I give it a liberal coating of 303 Aerospace Protectorant and leave it to dry whilst doing the rest of the car
