Hi Bodsy, sorry you seem to be in demand on this one!

Have an 08 plate too, have you seen this issue as a result of a dodgy battery?? Think mine is on the way out and the phone started not auto connecting about a week ago. Would that make sense??

It can do that, make sure battery is fully charged, make sure car has gone to sleep, then disconnect the pos and neg cables from the battery. Short them together (NOT on the battery!) for 10 seconds, then reconnect. That occasionally fixes it.
But have also seen it stop auto reconnecting for no apparent reason.
Can you select the contacts from the phone on your radio screen when you are connected? If you've never had that feature, then your on the older software anyway.

Thanks Ian, will get a new battery and try the short fix at the same time. Annoyingly it was all working fine until I deleted the phone from the car by mistake and not been right since.

I have contacts coming through on the car so looks like the latest version.

Steve - if you are reading this standby for a call in the morning for that new battery, looks like it was on the way out after all!

Just a follow up on this, it was not the car after all it was my phone......

Took battery and SIM card out and let the phone do hard reset, once this had completed I added back into the car and it works perfectly. Phone was a blackberry which often has software problems that are cured by manual reset. Suggest to everyone with this issue they try Bluetooth with a second phone to check the car system and reset the handset before pulling the car apart or buying a new battery!!

Now I have saved some £££ I have to find something else to buy instead!
