7 year service and Independent in Inverness or Edinburgh

My 7 year service is due in the next 2-3 months. The local dealer is looking at £1,130 for this service which includes the timing belt change. As my 2006 HSE 2.7 has only 32,000 miles on the clock is the timing belt change absolutely necessary. Also anyone aware of a good independent service centre in either the Inverness area or Edinburgh? RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE 2012 Santorini Black

Its not just the mileage thats taken into consideration with the belts, its also the age, and rubber belts do perish.
