Hi all,

I've just noticed a slight whistle when accelerating which seems to be coming from the left side of the car 07 2.7. The car seems to drive ok with no warning lights Any ideas

Whistling under acceleration could be a leaking exhaust manifold gasket, turbo whine or a hose leaking between turbo to intercooler or intercooler to inlet manifold.

If the noise is there when you're stationary and revving the engine, more than likely exhaust manifold gasket.

If only under load when driving, more likely turbo or related hose.

Is it by any chance a pulley like noise? kind of a lose pulley?
I have a 2007 Sport and I hear a noise once when engine is cold, then during acceleration.
The car drives normal though.

have you checked the car for midgets? a midget hiding in the boot, or in the rear seats, whistling, could cause this issue

No but I may have ran over a polish window cleaner and forgotten to scrap him out of the wheel arch ! I'll check for a jammed squeezey  S, grey, all black int, s,steps, window tints, fridge, ff tv x 3.

Soon find out its one away to be looked at  S, grey, all black int, s,steps, window tints, fridge, ff tv x 3.

I would suggest slight turbo whistle combined with the noise reflecting off of fences/walls etc. (I assume a UK car where the left side is towards the pavement)

I have a left hooker 2012 and the whistle is fairly apparent on acceleration most of the time ... I think the turbo is on the left as well 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

Well got her back from James French,s and it seems to be cured after a service mot new discs and pads all round and anti roll bar bushes. Now I can just hear a slight weeping noise from me after the bill  S, grey, all black int, s,steps, window tints, fridge, ff tv x 3.
