Recently moved house and have double garage that I need to sort storage out for and I'm looking for ideas for shelving units and also some form of wall racking to hang golf bags, tools, etc.

Shelving - I've seen 'Big Dug' ones, are there any better out there for the money or alternatives, better quality etc?

Wall racking - Looking at Slatwall or similar, again anybody have any decent websites to order from or better ideas ?

Want something that looks smart and happy to pay reasonable money to get something decent. Will be sorting the flooring out a little down the line with either tiles or specialist flooring, so just looking for storage ideas at the moment.

Have been pointed in the direction of Costco for some racking, must say, looks well made, decent size (48"w x 18"d x 72"h) and VERY reasonable, just over £50

As SWMBO'd sure can hoard some amount of junk ….

Between those and the Pull out drawer section they have , IIRC got it all for £500

Had Gorm in the old garage funnily enough, but wanted something a little sturdiers in this one.
Just returned from Costco with 3 units, blooming heavy stuff seats down in the RRS made light work of getting it home  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I found some 1800mm high 900 wide metal cabinets with lockable double doors. made angle iron frames with castors.
They are tidy, movable and secure. So with them full you can still move them about.

Not cheap but very, very solid and easy to assemble.

^^^ Was originally going to o the big dug route, but the Costco (Whalen, Rhino) ones are more sold, have melamine as opposed to chipboard shelves and are higher load rated

Put two of them up today, only took 10 minutes each, look really nice. Just need to sort some storage boxes/baskets and stage 1 of the garage makeover will be complete  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Google 'Dura', their stuff is fantastic, if a bit pricey

My garage is 9m2, and went down the ikea kitchen route for the cupboards, 4 of, for keeping tins of paint, car polish etc out of sight, dead cheap, and look quite classy. I made a 4m bench for half the back wall with 4 6x2" beams for the top, machine mart supplied the box rack which I keep small parts handy, and all garden tools and bikes are on hooks on one wall, nothing is on the floor , so I can give it a sweep out every now and again, still plenty room to fit two cars and motorbike/trailer. Most of our white goods are out there including the beer fridge
Despite the size of the walls, I could still do with more space, as my lad has a bike for just about every day of the week!!
