Dynamic Response question - again - sorry!!!

Hi guys,

Just read a few posts related to Dynamic Response - pros and cons etc, but to be honest the threads weren't that clear

I appreciate the benefits of DR, however also note the DR Pack automatically upgrades the wheels to 20". I think due to timing, I may automatically have DR as standard on a 07 HSE, but just wanted to ask is it really worth it? When I say really worth it, I must point out that my wife will be driving the RRS primarily and see does low miles and drives pretty steady. I noted one comment that it makes for a less tiring journey, but is this true? We drive over to France a couple of times a year (around 2k per trip), but ignoring those journeys dont do more than about 6k a year.

If I could get an example without DR and save £2.5k, would I be really missing out?

Cheers for any comments

Kaine

Kaine, DR is an electrohydraulic enhancement to the anti roll mechanism. At first it was available only on the Supercharged cars but has filtered it's way down to HSE's as well. It constantly adjusts the suspension to iron out smaller bumps and imperfections in the road surface, it stops the car "rolling" as much in speedy cornering and if you venture offroad it automatically allows greater wheel articulation of the suspension and disengages and relocates the anti-rollbars I believe.
With Dynamic pack you get Brembo brakes as well as the 20" wheels. The standard non DP system is pretty good, this is the £2700 icing on the performance cake! DP cannot be retro fitted after build - ie it is factory fit.

If you can find a pre-price rise HSE and feel that you can live without DP then get your dealer to do a search of the dealer and factory inventory as there will still be cars out there - they may not be in Buckingham Blue though and as we have recently found production of 06 models is winding down so you might have to compromise on your options now! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks Tim - I think I will probably go for it either way

Are the 20" alloys the same as on the SC RRS - as in the forum banner piccie - or would I get different ones?

Er....................... we don't know what the 2007 spec is yet, you probably know more than all of us! As far as I am aware yes those are the wheels you will get.
Think Jaymann has an HSE with Dynamic, try taking a look in his gallery for a pic of his car.
Edit
Have just been and looked and here is the pic in Jay's gallery to show you!

There is another style of 20" from LR called Stormer which was fitted to the 1st edition model but you can buy over ebay or from after market dealers. I don't know if an LR dealer would do a swop at no charge.............. and they are expensive! Supertrotter has just fitted a set of stormers to his HSE - pics in his gallery 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Jay,

Thanks very much indeed. I am changing my mind like the wind tonight Laughing

Basically your spec car is probably what I'll go for, however I'm sure I will change my mind another 20 times before placing the order Tuesday Rolling Eyes

By the way, your RRS looks stunning

Kaine
