United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black
diamond brite

anyone had any experience with diamond brite ?

The dealer wanted £300 yet i've seen it on ebay for £7.50 delivered.

My car is black and i don't want the swirl/hologram effect!

Thanks !

I have not heard any good things about dealer applied paintwork protection - Diamond included.

I certainly wouldnt let the dealer apply it. They probably won't prepare the paintwork properly and won't apply the sealant correctly either and for £300 its a rip off basically.

Best either to get the car properly detailed and protected or buy some polish and sealant and DIY. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Hi, I have used Diamond Brite on 4 Cars and find it is very good. Very Happy Don't pay £300 dealer price. If your car is reasonably new,Give it a thorough clean, and apply the two stage Diamond Brite as directed,If your car is in need of a hard cleaning job,Give it a light T CUT to take out any dull paint or marks. After applying this product (bought on Ebay, around £7).All i used to clean it after was cold water. My Freelander 2 was 4years old when i sold it to LRPR.It looked as good as the day i bought it. They put it up for sale and sold it within a few weeks. I have had my RRS coming up to a year,Gave it the treatment and it looks great on cold water washes
PS My Freelander2 was Sumatra Black. RRS Rimini Red itisme

Not for £300 but ive had supaguard and lifeshine on cars dealer applied and not - Im always happy with the end result and the ease of maintance (which is the important bit) - there are a lot of cynics (most web-based) but it was my regular detailer that said it was worth having it and then maintaining it regardless whether he applied it and he was right (actually he didnt apply it either the last few times).

Also he pointed out why you might pay someone rather than buy the kit...by the time you have bought it for between £30-£50 added in a bit of labour, say £100 for inside and outside clean + application, the warranty £25ish (which i used with autoglym - free lifetime touch up) a bit of profit £25 then you get into the £200 that it costs.

If you go a dealer route (they can be just as cheap if you haggle), like anything they are going to be a little more...just like a service is a little more than an independent...but then the lack of hassel (eg its done when you pick it up from new) that extra starts to balance itself out as well Mike
