Great thread!!, coming from the MB stable I have found it hard to get used to not being able to remote close the boot, my tail of woe happened today, I hit the lock car button on the remote the lock the car, I was inside my garage at the time sheltering from the rain, the car was 30 yards away, impressive range I thought as I didn't want to get wet, it was in that moment that I noticed the boot opening Big Cry so with no other option I had to make a relay sprint to the boot button Rolling with laughter If you've got it, spend it!

I have had my boot stick half open on a few occasions, 2012 MY power boot, but usually shuts fully. Although it developed a rattle a month or so ago and I had it in to the dealers yesterday when I couldn't take the feeling of driving a Tesco delivery truck any longer! Told it was due to the tailgate moving on a 'dry seal' so they lubricated the rubber Shocked This does seem to have fixed it but not sure for how long.

Although off subject - I am also having to get a new drivers seat back leather since it has stretched by about an inch in 3 months, never had this before in my life of owning Audis, BMW etc. I hope this is not the start of a cataloge of issues with the 2012 models : Big Cry

A little OT, but I notice in previous threads about the MY12 powered boot people claimed that things were falling out or that was one of the reasons they liked the old split tailgate.
Seems LR have a solution for that Idea
I give you the "Aperture Retention Net" Thoughts Question

Nothing to do with H&S, just poor planning by the designers at Land Rover!

Do they have designers at L/R Question I thought they just copied the market leaders a few years later but do it half cocked, i'm still waiting for L/R to introduce heads up display and rear interior lights that come on when the rear doors open, how long did it take L/R to catch on to push button start Shocked My wife had it in her BMW mini back in 2007 Rolling Eyes

I had push start way back when, on my 55 Reg E60 BMW Exclamation

I must admit, I've never thought of the LR brand as being cutting edge and it's definitely in the 'following' rather than 'leading' group. Following's not a bad thing by any means, as long as you do it well, I think that's where LR fall down, they don't seem to be able to get even simple things right. Rear courtesy lights is a classic point in case! ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Rolling with laughter

Funnily enough it was poverty spec 520D in 6spd manual, fantastic car, but to operate the push button start you had to depress the clutch, you would not believe how many times Mrs Beano called me to say 'the car won't start'!.
Life got a whole lot easier when I chopped that in for an A4 Cab without push start Laughing ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Update on my tailgate issues, its having some new struts fitted because there were water bubbling out of the joint halfway down the strut when it was closing Shocked I told the technician that might be because i had just washed my motor, but he was having none of it and said it shouldn't be doing that so i thought i'll let him order me a new set of struts Confused See if that helps Rolling Eyes
