2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Well, on the balance of probability, and because my wife confirmed that I was driving (yes dear), I have bent over and taken the punishment from those lovely chaps in the Warwickshire Police Force.

They have asked me for 60 of my finest British pounds and in return, will gift me 3 points.

I want to be angry at somebody about all of this, and call all the coppers total b'stards, but it is more a function of the country we live in I'm afraid. There are cameras watching everything we do, driving, walking, sat on the bus, picking your nose, and if you step out of line, dangerous or not, they'll have you.

I was doing 70mph on a motorway with light traffic on it, but unfortunately crossed into a temporary 50mph zone with a camera on (not roadworks I might add), and for whatever reason I didn't notice it or ignored it and have been done for it (assuming I accept their kind offer). I feel like going to court about it, but I'm sure that will only make things worse.

It is the first points I have had for over 20 years and I feel a bit sick about it. I was hoping for a speed awareness course, but that was wishful thinking I'm afraid.

Don't send the NIP back until the very last minute i.e. 2 days before and with a bit of luck it may just time out. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

I'm not sure if that works does it? I thought the timing out needed to be on there side, not mine. In that case, I just won't return the form and my driving licence.

Must be more to it than that?

SRE - this is the part that makes me sick. They collect their pound of flesh from those of us who tax and insure our cars, and register them at our home address, but the scrotums who do none of the above get off with it on a regular basis.

The problem with cameras is that they have no discretion. I was stopped by an unmarked 5 series who had been following me at a distance behind for about 10 or 15 miles on the M40 when I was in my Lotus. I watched his video and he recorded me twice, once with an average speed of 100.6mph and another at 101.2mph. I left his car with just a producer, as my driving was not defensive, not dangerous (yes yes, I know 100mph may not seem defensive), but the point is he had some discretion to realise I wasn't endangering the public on the road and a warning was ok. If it was a camera, I would be wearing my shoes out right now .... Disco 4 2012 3.0 SDV6 HSE,Santorini Black and Ebony, Privacy, Grand Black lacquer, 20" 5 spoke alloys, tow bar

It is down to them to get everything back to you within the time limit so the longer you take the less time they have to process your reply so although you do have to send the NIP back in 28 days do it just in time i.e.2 days before the limit and then hope it times out i.e. more than 6 months.
Lots of great advice from real motoring law experts here:

I've just been made aware that prosecutions from these cameras on the M42/M6 Toll have been suspended this month, and there may be a case to have points/fines overturned.

More when I get it. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!
