2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Supercharged Grille, whats the difference? Apart from colour

Hi all, I want to fit supercharged grille on my black 2.7d hse 06' to lift the look of the car.

Do I need to buy the supercharged grille or could I not modify my own instead?

As far as I see, if the outside was painted Java black and the centre bars silver and the badge changed for a black one, would that not be the same (If not even nicer)? If it is, it would be much simpler to do, cheaper and look better too?

Do the centre bars detach from surround to make the job super neat or not too?

Any thoughts or am I missing something, maybe theres more differences?

If someones done this already could they post a pic up to let me compare it with a SS grille?

I have one for sale on here you could look at - IIRC the 2 parts are welded together - they do look good, black badge and silver fins.

I asked my local bodyshop if they'd colour coordinate my grills, and after hearing I could purchase them on fleabay for £199 (grill and side vents plus then I could sell my old grill set for £60 odd (TDV8 one)) they said they'd be more expensive than that, so ended up doing the former RRS gone

Have you a link or pics? and how much do you want? PM me if you prefer?

So is the consensus that this mod is basically what a SS grille is anyway only better or am I wrong?

Hi Maw, still deciding wether to go for black/ silver or OEM SS look?

Is yours OEM? If I do decide to go your route ill give ya £60 inc postage (To NI) for it if thats any good to you! ...
