Range Rover Sport gets the Miltek Treatment

Hi Guys,

I have been meaning to do this thread since before Christmas but have just not had the time..!

When I first saw the press release about the Miltek exhaust being available for the Range Rover Sport I thought "I must have one! I bet it would sound great" I wasn't wrong.... The guys at AmD were impressed with how it sounds. I haven't done yet but I will do a sound recording over the next few days and post that up here for you to hear.

I got to AmD early ish on a Wednesday morning and they were ready waiting for me. Here is a couple of shots of my RRS when I arrived:

And here is my "Doctor" for the day:

A stunning fellow, I am sure you agree! LOL

The RRS was then put on the ramps ready for work to commence:

At this point all the shiny bits were unpacked:

After everything was checked the task of taking the old exhaust off and new one being put on commenced:

New bits getting into place Thumbs Up

The "Dr" working his magic...

Finished and Tested:

Here is a link to one of the Dyno runs they did with the car... You can't really here the car too much apart from when the do the full power run.

Getting creative!

My thoughts on the new system:

Its great, it compliments the back of my TDV6 look really nice with with the pipes.

The sounds is great, I am pleased with that. But its also NOT too boomy. So at motorway speeds there is no detriment. We drove to France over Christmas and you would not know at 80mph that there was a Miltek on it, this is really good.

If your thinking about going for it my advice would be don't hesitate. The guys down at AmD offer a fantastic service and take the time to make sure you are 100% happy.

Apologies for all the pictures but I hope you enjoy the thread!

Cheers,

John

ps. I know the underneath is dirty but it was the middle of December Wink

Hey Mr H

Thanks, I wanted to keep my fellow RRS.CO.UK members "in the loop"

Of course you can ask Thumbs Up

The details are here - http://www.amdessex.com/product.details.cf...eID=114751

I had a go on the rolling road (as you saw) too...

Well when your smoking around town there is a very deep grunt from it. I have had a fair few people say that my V8 Range Rover sounds awesome and I have to correct them and tell them its a V6..! The look of surprise is funny... When you hit the loud pedal it does pickup a lot quicker now and get off the line quicker IMHO too. You only need to look at the pipe configuration on the standard exhaust and the new Miltek to realise its better flowing.

Sean from AmD is a member here and AmD sponsor the forum too so drop them a line and see what they can do.

But I can't recommend this enough!!

I thought they did do one for the V8 I would think they would have one in development? I would send a message to AmD on the forum...

Well I had a remap too from AmD when I first got it. On the rollers its producing I think 245-250bhp and around 500lb ft torque.

Smile

Jonny
Looks and sounds fantastic Thumbs Up one issue though, it looks like the new system takes a new route away from one of the heat shields, could this be an issue? In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Im not sure, I dont tend to look underneath! I am sure Miltek wouldnt have designed it to take a diffrent route if it was going to cause issues.

Hopefully Shaun will be along soon to be able to answer all your questions Smile
