Warranty Clarification...

So in my search for a 2nd hand vehicle Im looking for something at least within warranty so it can be extended or at least my understanding is if it is out of warranty it cant be extended?

In looking at LR's website there statement is:

The vehicle warranty starts on the day that the vehicle is delivered to the first retail customer and continues for three years 100,000 km.

does this mean continues for three years OR 100,000 km. Is it which ever comes first?

In the UK, you can have an out of warranty car inspected and then get a full or select warranty at the LR dealer depending on the car's age.
