Blatter's blunder

Can anyone think of a more useless sack of s Censored t than the bloke at the head of FIFA, I certainly can't.

Listening to him in the interview with the BBC he said he cannot resign because when you have a problem you have to deal with it.

What he fails to recognise is that HE is the problem.

Having lead an organisation clearly corrupt and opaque and to now pronounce that racism can be dealt with using a hand shake after the game, demonstrates IMHO that the man is not fit for office. The sooner he can be got rid of the better.

before i start i would just like to clear up the fact that i like most think the guy is about as much use as a handbrake on a canoe but.....

i have played football to what i would call a very decent standard in both england and scotland (junior level in scotland and semi pro in england) and i can kinda see what he is getting at. ive had some right comments on a pitch and i have to admit ive dealt some out, but neither me or the other player have held a grudge as its just what happens on the pitch. hand shake at the end and a beer afterwards. all is good!

this is just a pathetic media frenzy and it all started from a comment made by john terry (lets not forget that anton ferdinand didnt raise any sort of investigation or bare a grudge as to what terry himself said)
its another case of brittish media getting carried away with something and nothing. if i had a pound for every comment made on a pitch or when im at work or fighting (i do mma) i would certainly not be working i know that much lol.

and to close,

i dont condone racism either. its just something that happens every single day in life.

sectarianism in glasgow is far worse than racism will ever be, trust me on that and the media dont really go mad at that do they.

rant over. lol

Sorry but I couldn't disagree more.

A racist comment in the street wouldn't be viewed in the same way. In the workplace it certainly wouldn't be tolerated.

To say that it's justified because you happen to be standing on a rectangle of grass playing a game is ludicrous. It's either wrong or it's not.

For the head of the sports governing body to come out with let's just sort it out with a handshake demonstrates clearly to me that he's not fit for office.

Let's says these comments had been made by the chairman of a major company / politician / etc then there is no way that individual would hold onto their job.

It was pretty clear that no one wanted to align themselves with or try to justify his comments. Have i got the busted controller?!?!!?

Always a touchy subject. I cant say its a regular occurrence, but you still hear remarks that are quite "eyebrow" raising, not specifically in one place, just a general observation on day-to-day travels. I'm sure its more prevalent than any politician would have you believe, right or wrong, it happens!

I think your comment on the workplace depends on where you work, perhaps generically within offices it is now rare, but if you walked into a local factory, you would probably hear stuff that again raises the eyebrow somewhat. Some are more tolerant of migration than others but the simple fact is, people will always resort to name calling if the IQ is low enough and knows nothing else.

I appreciate what your saying will, but when you are the head of the organisation you have to take a stance that permeates down through all levels and sets the right standard.

In his position he should be unequivocal in his condemnation and determination to eliminate it if at all possible, not sending a message that says actually it's ok as long as we all shake hands afterwards.

Racism has no place in the game clear and simple either amongst fans towards each other, fans to players, or player to player.

To give an impression it's somehow acceptable given a set of circumstances ( whatever they may be) will only encourage it to breed.

Exactly the same is true of corruption for instance and maybe that's why there are some unanswered questions there too. Have i got the busted controller?!?!!?
