That's almost a month now I've been using command shift in order to pull away in 1st instead of 2nd and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I've even given up on the Sand mode on the TR as was stated before, just too much of a hassle. This gets rid of all the pull away lag and scares some boy racers I may add.

Still might go for the remap but this has made the pull away from stationary much more enjoyably/violent. Lol.

For additional off the line grunt, you can put it in 1st in CS, left foot brake, add some throttle with the right foot. When you let off the brake the car just launches forwards. Not sure it's something to do very often though. Bet the transmission takes a beating. Also bet that it's how they set the book times for 0-60! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I read somewhere that Range Rover had little choice but to 'detune' the TDV8, as with a tuned powerplant it seriously challenges the petrol supercharged (only a point or two of a second difference 0-60). Take your pick, being heavy footed, 25mpg diesel or 12mpg petrol. Me thinks they wouldn't be selling too many SC's

dont believe everythng you read, a s/c will kill a smoker all day.......imho . sill love burning the boy racers who think a big lump is going to be slow off the mark. i have a 4.2 but the 5.0 is a different beast

and to get an extra 120 or so bhp to match the s/c would be one serious remap

many thanks for explaining command shift, funnily enough this is what i have been doing since I bought her, just didnt realise it was called this. On doing it the other day after reading this, noticed it also says command shift on the dash

I was hoping when i read command shift it was something to do with the steering wheel buttons instead. oh well.
