Hello,
Yes Tim, it's been chipped the same as mine. I've kept a low profile on chipping after the agro & suspicion from TC, but now Josh has also made the jump I can once again confirm it's the way to go.
It doesn't appear to have adversely affected the economy. On a recent family holiday to Scotland, I averaged almost 30mpg, fully loaded.
I'm also tempted by the large oval tailpipes. They're basically the same as those fitted to MDP's S/C, but for the TDV6.
The JE website is a little out of date, it's probably worth giving them a ring if you're interested.
Paul

Thanks Paul, I was going to have a TC done in April but after the car went back to the dealer with an ECU problem it came back running a lot better than before so I decided not to go ahead. Currently averaging 29-30mpg in day to day running and have managed 32.4 on a drive from Solihull to Scotland a couple of weeks back so on the economy front I don't need any tweeks at present - I find the standard tune performance since the ECU upgrade is now actually OK for 99% of the driving I do. I wouldn't mind some more attractive tailpipes though. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I find operating up to around 50mph it has sufficient performance, nothing more.

It really lacks go above these speeds, especially trying to get past traffice at 60/70 mph (officer)

With the kind of figures Josh is talking about I would imagine it will still feel sprightly at these speeds and more. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Yeh, but you young fellows are all used to high performance light saloon cars and hot hatches. I've been driving Land Rovers for the last 10 years and the performance of the Sport is a revelation compared to all of them except the V8 Disco I owned 1st! The Sport even makes the FFRR feel like a slug, despite similar performance figures and being heavier. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I've found the sluggishness in the 50-70 range really wore off after a few thousand miles. I'm on 12.5k now and although it's never going to be world beating it's fine for me. I sometimes wonder what its going to be like when I return to world of the sports saloon with my next car.... will I find the performance exhilarating like I did when I got my M3?

At the end of the day I am one of Tim's "young fellows" I suppose and I don't feel the need to chip it... and really at 700/800 quid, it's not something I think is worth the money.

Horses for courses though.... If I felt the difference maybe I'd change my mind.

S/TROTTER,

The difference is phenominal. Whilst I make an effort not to exceed the speed limit officer.........I did have to try it out on occasion and found that having slowed down to 60 for someone who pulled into the offside lane on the M1. I could then accelerate away effortlessly to an unrepeatable 90ish and felt I could have gone beyond that easily. Leaving the car behind me effortlessly.
Overtaking will no longer be the issue it was. I no longer pull out on a roundabout/junction feeling I'm going to get stuffed in the side Exclamation

It really is that good. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

That's the thing I think Josh.

Until you've actually driven a chiiped one you don't have a clue how it will feel or if it's worth the money.

The amazing thing about RRS is that although it feels sluggish at these speeds, if you watch the speedo it does actually climb at a fair rate for 2.5t/188bhp/325lb ft.

The difference for me Shmoogle is that I also have the Beemer which is a quick TD anyway (As Jay will know) and when I go from RRS to BM, it feels like a rocket.

When I go BM to RRS it FEELS like 2.5t

I'm still unsure, but probably 65:35 YES at the moment. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

If anyone is considering a JE tune, I'm happy for them to try my car beforehand. I'm not far from JE in Coventry, so you could try mine and then go on to JE if you think the upgrade is what you want.
