Being a Transport Manager myself, this probably won't be over and done with quickly. He is probably only insured 3rd party as it's a heck of alot to insure a fleet fully comp, and therefore the company will argue and argue it as they won't want to have to pay there own repairs.

As long as they sort it out some day and will accept their driver messed up not me, I will be happy. I am not so worried about getting their insurance to pay my bills ASAP, although that would be very convenient. All I want for now is to get the car to the garage and get it fixed.

Thank you for the post BIG DJ. Vadim A.

Talked to Paul from LPR today and he offered a Land Rover Service which finds out the details about the accident and if they decide it was not my fault, they pay the expenses and then deal with the other party to get the money back!
My insurance was not so helpful, I need to pay my insurance excess first (which is a lot of money, do not even want to mention it). They then deal with the accident etc etc. On the other hand their brokers can fix my car, but they will use their own garage to do that. I am not too keen on doing that.

For now I am waiting for the call from LR.

Any advice? Vadim A.

Just remind them that it has to be a LR approved bodyshop to still validate your LR warranty Thumbs Up

From how you've described it, it's not clear if the van was parked up when you tried to move in front of it or just stationary because of the traffic. If he wasn't parked but just stationary/slow because of the traffic then I think you'll be getting the blame as you tried to get over to his lane while he will just say he couldn't see you down below him as he moved forward while staying in his own lane.

Damage doesn't look too bad in the photos and should be no problem for a good LR approved shop to get perfect. Nothing will be on your car's record so unless you tell a prospective purchaser, they will be none the wiser.

Ok, it was one way street with all the parking slots taken. He was parked up on the RHS lane waiting for cars to leave, so he was stationary. The traffic was moving in the left lane and so was I, there were no cars in front of the truck and that is why I decided to change to the RHS in front of him. I managed to get in front of him only half way through (so my car up to the rear doors was in front of him). I could not go any further because of the car before me. he then suddenly decided to take off and this is when he rammed driver's drivers door, then the mirror and then RHS wing. As soon as I saw him moving, I moved to the left slightly to avoid the collision but I could not go any further because of the car in front of me. Vadim A.

Sorry to read this Vadim

When I had an incident in my 1st RRS with a tanker truck in 2006 I phoned the company who owned the truck....................... the driver had not reported the incident to the transport manager, driver got big s Censored t from above. Worked out well for me as the transport manager was a customer at the same dealership as me for his fleet of RRS company cars for the directors. They were even more pleased to help because I didn't get on the phone shouting and screaming at their staff, told them that i was going to pay for my repairs myself and then I was told that I should present a copy of the bill to them and they would make a contribution. Imagine my surprise when I received a cheque for the entire cost of the repairs. The photos etc are posted somewhere in the forum in 2006!

Hope it all gets sorted out to your satisfaction 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Sounds like you have a case if he was parked up. I'm not sure how tacograph's work exactly but I would have thought that it would show that he was parked up prior to the crash and then moved off. I would think that puts the onus on him to check that it's safe to do so.

£3K excess Shocked Shocked

I thought I was getting shafted when they asked me for £800!!

Tales of woe like this make me think that a 'Black Box' is a good idea. Some seem to record on impact but surely there are some that record through the front drivers view and record over and over until you need a playback?
If Vadim had one then he could he could prove that he was not at fault then £3k and a lot of Question would be avoided.
Any one got one or know of a system?
