Stripped Out Version "RS" RRS Supercharged

Lets be honest the RRS is a great shape - But I would welcome a stripped out Supercharged without half the toys that you dont really need or use!!! = A CHEAPER TOY Confused

NO Satnav - cheaper more versatile portable/mobile ones around now

NO Adaptive cruise control - In the UK - everyday use = useless

Cheaper headlights - Halogen ?

No heated front windscreen/seats/washer jets

Simple bluetooth handsfree phone intergrated kit

Who needs PDC - cut the cost

Get the picture - lighter in weight & cheaper

I saw the link/thread earlier Tim & the TopGear video clip ( cool ) But what I'm thinking of is a more in keeping road version.

ie. The RRS is a great shape. However what about a lightweight 2door version - doesnt even need to be that sophisticated for total off road use ( this could be part of the options list )

Something that would totally blow the Porky Pig away - but still retain the looks/merits of the full blown RRS.

Simply because of the nature of the Supercharged & its pretty 20" alloys - I wont take mine offroad ( fear of damage/cost ) I bet most owners are the same?

If thats the case - then I bet there is possibly a large market out there for something of this ilk?

I suppose = a real world Range Stormer Idea

Went in today to have all the work sorted

Called them at about 4ish and he told me that it's still in the work shop and i should have it back later on today. Then get a call back at 5 saying that they need the car over night and that they are having problem with the suspension so i hope it will bee tomorrow Smile RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

MDP - I agree totally but I suspect the problem is that this would probably be a niche model (Similar in priciple to the Pug Rallye models) but flies in the face of LR ethos really.

I would imagine the core of LR buying profile buy them for refinement/adequate performance/serious off road ability.

Whilst a 'Stripped out racer' may appeal to us, just how many units would they shift?

Love it or loathe it, the Pig-faced-Porker offers performance, handling, roadholding, refinement and toys all in one. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Why buy a large 4x4 if you don't want off road performance?? LR should never make a car that is not capable off road. If you want stripped out speed focused performance why buy a LR, lets face it you wouldn't buy a Kia if you wanted a luxury car. Making a lower spec SC doesn't really make much sense either, why spend £50K (what it would still cost) and not get Sat Nav and all the rest.

I would say Tims idea of a Bowler would be more sensible, if luxuries were not your thing!
