Guernsey 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue
Landrover Stat navs

Most admit that my times with the Sport often brought about frustations with the Stat Nav system, especially as it refuses to reconise the A34 as being a major trunk road which I use a lot. My 5 year old TOM TOm was way better.

After the sale of the Sport treated myself to the new Tom TOm Go Live XL1005,

Spent couple of hours manually transfering favourites from Landrover system and felt very Smug.
Speed cameras, accurate ETA;s, Google search very handy, much better routing and knows the A34 exists. and Lane tecnolgoy really helpful as well.

BUT...........................

Its all gone wrong!!!

After 3months the battery would not hold a charge and even when plugged in would keep cutting out on a journey.
Loooking on the internet found this is becoming a frequent problem with these units.

Tom Tom support sent out pre paid envelope next day and off it went for repair.

2 weeks later new unit arrivved

New unit would not connect to Live Services or Computer to update. No reply to e-mails from Tom Tom.
All old favourite places totally lost as Tom Tom do not provide a back up System for it yet, and looks like it is some months away if ever from the conservation I had with them today.

Still will not do some updates and have a feeling they do not have a clue what the problems are with this range of units. The Tom Tom forum on these products makes for sad and sorry stuff, thousands of complaints enquires, questions but no answers to most.

Tom Tom do seem to have lost the plot on these latest products, rather have a Landrover sysytem than no System

We do have ferries you know Laughing Laughing

Come over without your nav, see how well you navigate with no road signs (considered to ugly for our roads) and roads that can have 2 or 3 different names but most will be unprounacable. Whistle

Did look at Garmin systems but found the interface much harder to work with than Tom Tom, suppose its what your used to
